Review:
The title character is just so incredibly goofy-looking I have to believe that this movie was intended purely for laughs. I refuse to accept that this could possibly be an accident. I mean, he makes cooing noises and blows smoke rings! Once you accept this, the movie is actually quite enjoyable. Again, there are some fun special effects with giant praying mantises galore and a huge spider thrown in to boot. I'm not entirely sure just why, but I've always liked this movie. It's certainly not a great movie by any means, even compared to other Godzilla movies, but it's a lot of fun. Just don't try reading too much into it....
